Old River-Winfree Founders Day
Vendors

July 24 - 25, 2009. Friday and Saturday

Two days for our vendors to sell their items.
Set up on Thursday,
8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday,
8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday

Vendors are registering and becoming a part of history in the Old River-Winfree Founders Day's first year.  We have promised the Vendors that they will be a One-of-a-Kind vendor of their unique talents.  We are a looking for unique, individual vendors and are seeing a great response!

There will not be another vendor selling what your sell.  This is important as I have been a vendor myself many times and hate to hear about someone selling vintage linens cheaper than me.  You are unique to us and we want it to stay that way.

If you would like to dress in themed finery, go right ahead.  It will make you so unique and catch the eyes of the customers.  This Founders Day is celebrating the history of Old River-Winfree and the River we are named for, so consider colonial dress, or whatever you can find in the closet that might APPEAR to be a theme.

Remember, Old River-Winfree Founders Day has chosen you to be a part of our history and we will work with you as a team to make your day a profitable day.  Promise!!

Gulf Coast Friends of the NRA

Friends of the NRA is a grassroots fund-raising program that fosters community involvement, raises money and gives 100 percent of the net proceeds to qualified local, state and national programs through the NRA Foundation. Nationally, the foundation has funded more than 15,000 state grants for a total of $100 million. That includes funding things like youth firearms safety and education programs, hunter education and wildlife conservation efforts. State Fund Committee grants frequently target youth programs.

The local chapter, the Gulf Coast Friends of the NRA, formed and had their first banquet in 1994. Since then the group has raised more than $325,000 and funded grant requests from groups that including the ROTC groups at both Ross S. Sterling and Robert E. Lee high schools; the Cedar Bayou Methodist Boy Scout troops; and the Liberty County 4H Club. The group has also provided equipment to several local area police departments.

“Any group can apply for the grants,” said Cheatham.

The Gulf Coast Friends of the NRA has a much-varied membership, he said.

“We have doctors, lawyers and blue-collar workers, male and female,” Cheatham explained. “It’s a good group, the banquet will be a lot of fun.”

Anyone can attend the banquet; membership in the NRA is not required.

Sponsor tables are available at different price levels and each earns the purchaser a special treat.

For $300, a corporate sponsorship brings eight banquet tickets and an NRA gun-cleaning kit.
